What we do with personal data, and the important distinction between data we hold and data our customers hold.
Effective 23 August 2026
1. Who we are
Webint Expert Pte Ltd (registered as WEBINT EXPERT PTE LTD) ("we", "us") builds web intelligence and data fusion software. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Questions, or any request to exercise the rights in section 7, go through our contact form, which is our single inbound channel. We reply to the email address you give us there.
2. The distinction that matters most
This policy covers personal data that we hold about you, which in practice means business contact details and website request logs. It is a short list.
It does not cover data processed by a customer inside their own WebINT deployment. That data is under the customer's control and they are the controller for it. In air-gapped and on-premises deployments we hold none of it and have no technical means of accessing it. If you believe a customer holds data about you, your rights lie against that organization, not against us. Where we can identify the customer and it is lawful to do so, we will pass your enquiry on. Our processing terms with customers are set out in our Data Processing Addendum.
3. What we collect
| Category | Source | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, work email, organization, country, and the message you write | The enquiry form, or an email you send us | To respond to your enquiry and, if it proceeds, to carry out end-user due diligence |
| Business contact details of people at customer and prospect organizations | You, your colleagues, or public professional sources | To manage the commercial relationship |
| IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp | Automatically, in our hosting provider's request logs | Security, abuse prevention, and keeping the site running |
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting of any kind. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. We do not know how many people visit a given page beyond what appears in raw server logs, and we consider that an acceptable trade. If that changes we will update this section and the effective date before the change takes effect, not after.
4. Lawful basis
- Legitimate interests, for responding to enquiries, managing commercial relationships, securing the site, and conducting due diligence on prospective customers. We consider these interests balanced against your rights, and you may object at any time.
- Legal obligation, where export control, sanctions, tax, or accounting law requires us to collect or retain something.
- Performance of a contract, where you are a contact at a customer organization.
Where the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) applies, we rely on the corresponding provisions for consent, deemed consent, or the legitimate interests exception.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We disclose it only to:
- Service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, currently our website host and our email provider.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where they need it.
- A public authority, where we are legally required to disclose and the request is valid. We will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
- An acquirer, if the business or the relevant part of it is sold, subject to this policy continuing to apply.
6. Transfers, retention, and security
Our website is served from a global content delivery network, so a request may be handled outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred across borders we use contractual protections that require a comparable standard of protection to that required by the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
We keep enquiry correspondence for up to 24 months from our last contact, and records we are required to keep for tax, accounting, export control, or sanctions purposes for as long as the relevant law requires. Request logs are retained on our host's standard schedule, which is measured in days rather than years. After that we delete or anonymize.
We apply access controls, encryption in transit, and the principle of least privilege to the small amount of personal data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. To report a vulnerability, see our security page or security.txt.
7. Your rights
Subject to the applicable law, you may ask us to give you access to the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
Send the request through our contact form, stating that it is a data protection request. We will respond within 30 days, and will tell you if we need longer and why. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to your data protection authority; in Singapore that is the Personal Data Protection Commission.
8. Children
This website and our products are sold to organizations and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this site.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will give notice of material changes to customers through the contact on their account.
10. Contact
All enquiries, including data protection requests, go through our
contact form. We do not publish mailboxes.
